PostSubject: NextCruise with RCI   Thu Aug 09, 2007 3:54 pm

I just love this new feature of Royal Caribbean's. While you're on board you can see the LA and book a cruise to "nowhere" for only $100pp and that will get you a booking ID number and $100 OBC. You will have up to 3 years to decide where you want to cruise to.

I've only cruised on RCI so I do not know if other cruise lines offer this or not. But it's a great deal.

Happy cruising
Linda

Linda,

Actually the OBC amount will be determined by the length of the cruise you apply the NextCruise booking to ... for example a 3-5 night cruise would get you a $50 OBC, a 6-8 night cruise gets a $100 OBC, and a 9+ night cruise gets a $200 OBC.

The only thing I don't like about the program is that the $100 deposit in nonrefundable (unlike the Princess FCC booking where the deposit is refundable).

Linda,

Another important thing to note with Next Cruises is once you commit to a specific ship and sail date you can't move that booking to another ship or date without loosing your OBC. Also, beware that RCI's agents are not well trained as to how to handle Next Cruise bookings and more times then not they mess up the bookings and do not credit your OBC. I recommend that if you have any Next Cruises pending you book through a knowledgable TA to minimize any problems.

Bob, thanks for the tip. I have not used my pending NextCruises yet, but it seems as though the C&A dept. and loyalty ambassador were on the same page when all was explained to us.

I will be using my 1st NextCruise in April when I decide on a date. So we will see how things turn out.

Love the new board

Bob, we are right outside of Dallas. I'm thinking about booking the Voyager in April leaving out of Galveston. That would just be a 5 hr drive.

We are certainly going to miss the Rhapsody. I hope rcl will make up their minds soon on a permanent replacement for the Rhapsody.

I put a deposit down when I sailed on the Mariner of the Seas last July. When I sailed on the Sovereign this past January my OBC was there!!
I also just put down a deposit with Princess last week while onboard the Emerald Princess! Their Future Sales office was always busy!

PostSubject: $100 FCC   Sun Nov 02, 2008 5:51 pm

I did book a RCCL cruise and use my future cruise credit and then did change to a different cruise. they did allow it but if i would have cancelled i would have lost my f.c.c. completely. so the $100 came off my deposit plus i got $200 o.b.c. because it is a 12 night cruise. pretty good deal. plus i have 100 shares of RCCL so i also get another $200 o.b.c. as a shareholder perk which on RCCL is combinable with any other offers. geek

I heard from RCL that after December 31, 2008, they will not allow the next Cruise certificate to be combined with the Shareholder OBC. So what is the future advantage of booking a next cruise certificate if you own RCL stock?

It sounds like nothing will be combinable, Next Cruise, Shareholder, or C&A.

Sadly there is no longer an advantage, if you own RCL stock. Sad

and considering i bought the stock at $30 and it's 6 today. i will have that stock forever. in fact, i thought today that if it goes any lower i am buying another 100 shares to make up for the beating i took at 30 - hopefully - one day maybe.

I know what you mean. I bought more at $10. a share and am now thinking about getting more as the price is so down.

$10? i would kill to have bought at 10. i bought at 30 and within a week or 2 it went to 37 and i thought i only bought for a $200 credit so i've made 700 i should sell. i don't know why i didn't because before i knew it it was below 30 and it was very quickly downhill.

Pat - sorry you took a beating on that stock. Sad

As far as those LA's onboard, there is now no reason to book anything with them. I waited until I got back so I could sit down and really look at the prices.

Michele, I too will be booking all future cruises from home. No need for me to use an LA anymore. Sad

Hey Nancy, I'll have to talk to you. We are going to jump on Majesty in Miami. Would you consider driving that far and coming with us?

Michelle,

Tell us about your Majesty cruise plans. I would love to fit in another cruise before next year, but my DH would think I was nuts to even talk about going away again, but my girls would love the chance.
