Hi I'm Barbara and this will be my first Cunard cruise ever. How does Cunard differ from lines such as Royal Caribbean and Carnival - I've sailed both lines and enjoyed them but, what to upgrade and experience the Cunard difference. Tell me what I can expect.

The lines are very much different! On Cunard you will find:

Trivia in the pub, interesting lectures, ballroom dance or acting classes, shows in the planetarium where on the other lines you find Hairy Chest & Fruit in the Suit Contests.

In the evening you would attend a themed ball rather than the Quest game show.

There is more focus on personal enrichment, relaxation, mental and cultural stimulus and socialization on Cunard. It's not that it is stuffy or snooty. It is just more proper and refined. It's an environment where you are encouraged to put your best foot forward in terms of manners, conversation and etiquette rather than your hairy leg.
As a teacher I'm sure you would enjoy having intellectual conversations with adults that appreciate your intelligence, rather than kids for a change! (BTW, I applaud your efforts toward the education of the next generation!)

Don't forget that there are many favorite fun activities on Cunard like karaoke, comedians, the disco and deck games.

I hope you can join us on this cruise. It's a different experience but one I think everyone should try at least once.

Hmmmm, normally I wouldn't fly over for such a short amount of time but, considering it's a pre-Christmas get together, it is a very good excuse for another cruise. Let me think about this and get back to you.

Hi Brooke,

From what I have heard we can expect space to be released on or close to April 20th so mark your calendar! If you have people interested please encourage them to come and vote in the cabin selection polls in the sticky section of this board. This is one of the best things people can do to help me form the space for these groups properly.

We're getting close!

I also have flyers for all Cruise Freek Forums sailings up at work, and, they are starting to generate lots of interest. Can you give me a rough idea what the lowest priced cabins start at for 4th of July?

Thanks for spreading the word on the groups! When space comes out I will create flyers with pricing and group amenities etc that you all can download and print off or email to your friends and family. The more the merrier!

Based on THIS YEAR'S pricing as of today the lowest priced inside is a D8, total with taxes: $1465.00 per person.
A B6 balcony is $1766.00 per person.

Just a rough idea of what this cruise goes for Smile

Are we still voting for where we're going to dinner and which show for 4th of July or is the voting closed? If so, what was selected?

Marina, since you're our resident 4th of July and shorty cruises on Cunard expert, can you let me know what to expect formal night wise. In other words, will the Black & White Ball be our formal night?

The ship stays in port for the fireworks, right? Also, do they broadcast the Boston Pops on-board during the fireworks display?
