I will probably be in my cabin on formal night as I don't have any formals to wear. But I will peek out the door of my cabin to see how lovely everyone looks. Smile

Virginia

I hope you are joking Smile

You shouldn't hide in your Cabin, even if you don't want to go to the Ball there lots of other things to do. Tina sent pics of real people dressed even on formal night they were not all floor length gowns.

I will call for you around 7pm Very Happy

We're doing the same thing, Ginny!

Especially on the 4th!
We'll be sitting in our room (not Hiding, Tony!) in our comfy red, white & blue tee shirts & shorts....enjoying the wonderful room service and relaxing! Maybe we will be able to see the fireworks from our in-hull balcony window - that would be cool!

Why - umm.. because I'm an American...celebrating 233 years of Independance & Freedom from British Rule on that day.. In my own way, doing what I choose to do - because I have the freedom & right to do that! Wink

Cynical snob, right? lol!

You are very kind Tony but I really don't have the proper clothes for formal night on QM2. What I do have does not go with the theme planned. Smile Pamela sounds like you have a enjoyable evening planned. Hope the fireworks will be visible. Very Happy

Clearly you have the freedom to do anything but I would have thought the celebration of secession from the British Empire would be a group event to be clebrated openly by Americans flag waving and all that. Seeing the rockets red glare , bursting in the air eh what ? Not that you were being oppressed anyway of course you just overreacted as usual. Smile

tony - i would be out on deck in red white and blue waving my flag. that would be a sight to behold - boston harbor for 4th of july. however being on a british ship is just wrong.

Actually it was built in France same home as the Statue of Liberty. Probably the ship you attacked in Boston Harbour was British so it is somewhat appropriate. Just don't throw any tea bags overboard this time.

of course, you are right i just wanted to say the tea wasn't thrown on the 4th so no tea throwing. plus it might be a maritime violation of some kind.

Glad to hear! Thanks, Nina.

By the way, are you bringing the baby? It's probably in here somewhere, but I was just curious. :-)

Looking forward to meeting you onboard. I'm VERY excited!
