PostSubject: Howdy :-)   Thu Jan 15, 2009 10:56 pm

Wow, just from reading through a bunch of posts, this board already seems waaaayyy friendlier than some other cruise boards out there! :-) I'm glad I found it!

I'm Gina, and my son (12) and I are cruise fanatics. Just such an awesome way to vacation! But I'm guessing y'all already know that. Wink We are also card-carrying Disney nuts, but DCL has priced themselves way out of my little single mom budget. So our next cruise is booked on Royal Caribbean, and we're excited about exploring a new ship! To make it even better, my son's best friend and his mom (who is also my friend) just booked too in a cabin right close to ours. We can't wait!!

I just wanted to say hi to you friendly people and say I'm glad I'm here. Very Happy

Hi Gina,
Welcome to Cruise Freeks. We are a bunch of friendly people!! My family also love Disney although we have yet to do a Disney Cruise. Which Royal Caribbean ship are you sailing on and when? You never know there might be some "freeks" already sailing with you!!

That's so sweet of you! It's nothing immediate, though... heck, we don't even sail until next February. :-) Most of my questions are just general. I'm already discovering differences between DCL and RCCL that I wouldn't have thought to ask about!

To you guys sailing soon, have a great time!!

Michele,
Loved your list. I asked my question so I would get an idea of what kind of questions Gina would not have thought to ask. As a travel agent I like to be able to anticipate as many questions as possible and thought that Gina (and anyone else!) might help me that way. So many times it is easy to overlook something obvious because it might not seem that important to us where it is to our clients.

Michelle summed it up pretty well! :-) Really, I was most surprised to find out that sodas aren't even free at dinner. That's kind of nuts. =/ Certainly not a trip-ruiner by any means, but surprising.

I am pretty excited, though, that there is a library! But I'm a dork like that. :-)

I do think that for our boys' ages, this is going to be a huge blast, and I daresay even better than Disney. They're already very excited about rock climbing and ice skating. One thing I'm hoping doesn't disappoint for me is the level of service. DCL crew have a way of making you feel as though you're the first person to ever step foot on their ship. It's phenomenal. But I am going to step onto the Voyager with a very open mind. :-)
