Nina,

I clicked on the banner on the front page and went to the website for the Shopping Trip in NYC in 2009. I am interested! Do you have pricing for the package yet and if we need air do we tell you? And, also how will this work? Will it be payment in full at the time of booking or will there be deposit followed by payments or one final payment?

It's all very exciting!

Hi Pam, glad you are excited! We are still ironing out all of those details but wanted to let people know what was in the works as soon as we had the basic plan set up. Christina and Marina really out did themselves helping to pull the strings necessary to bring everything together. So be sure to send a big thank you their way Very Happy

Air will be separate from the package and yes you will be able to book it through me. I'll have to get back to you on the payment terms as much will depend on the final package and what will be included and what will be an optional addition. It's going to be an amazing weekend though!

I looked at it too, then I looked up the hotel, it's like $300+ per night! Too rich for my beer budget! If you went lower, you might get more people interested. JMHO

Common sense would dictate given the gift cards for the various stores being included that this is a trip not intended for those with a "beer budget". I always shake my head in disbelief when people can't analyze things for themselves. Evil or Very Mad Which store wasn't clue enough for you that this was intended for the higher end shopper? Saks Fifth Avenue or Bergdorf Goodman? Perhaps you thought the stores were Gunny Sacks and Beerdorf Goodman...

Looks like a GREAT package Nina! I know I'll be joining you, I just don't know if I will bother with the hotel. More than likely I will - it will be a nice mini-vacation Very Happy

Hi, Nina
Thanks for putting this together. I have some ladies that live in Arizona that like to get out of town and a trip to NYC shopping will be ideal. I will let you know if it works for them. I hope the hotel is near the action.... how will transportation between stores be handled, taxi, van or all on our own.... Not being from New York area I don't know how close these stores are to each other.

I believe Tina and Nina are lining up bus or mini-bus service, it would be a hike from most shopping spots back to the hotel but, they can correct me if I'm wrong Very Happy

Ajani made a great website for the trip, that might help you too:

Will you be joining us Lona Lee? The more the merrier! Very Happy

Lona Lee, the Hyatt is literally next to Grand Central station, you can get just about anywhere in the city from there! And, yes, there is shopping right in Grand Central, not to mention restaurants and they even have tours!

http://grandcentralterminal.com/

This is an EXCELLENT location, trust me, you don't want to be over in that Times Square mess, it's a tourist trap.

Thanks!! I've been talking about this trip to DH all night!!

Will the gift cards be actual cards we can spend ~ or will they be "spend $ 500.00 & get $ 150.00 off". . .doesn't really matter ~ last time I was at Macy's the perfume I wanted was $ 300.00!!

I'm thinking what a great way to get a few Christmas gifts too rendeer !! & a few for me!! Laughing
I'm checking out the NY Shopping web site now - the restaurants all sound so yummy!! We have never been to NY - so I appreciate the walking tour that was posted!! All the places sound so familiar!! Like St Patrick's Cathedral, Rockefeller Center, Radio City, etc.

Linda, I just noticed you're from Half Moon Bay! I lived in San Francisco (Pacific Heights) and then in Marin (Tiburon) for 10 years. As much as I love being home here in NYC, I do miss the Bay Area!

Do you ever get over to Ming's in Palo Alto? I miss their chicken salad... I also miss the Stanford Mall and shopping downtown San Francisco.

Anyhow, NYC shopping can't be beat. You're going to love it!

OMG - Stanford Mall is a holiday tradition - my sister - who lives in Los Altos - actually stays the weekend in the City the weekend after Thanksgiving - just for the shopping!!

This trip to NY is just what we wanted!!

I have a feeling this trip is going to sell out fast! Very Happy But, that's a good thing - it will show people what Cruise Freeks can do vs those other boards!

Nina - I have feeling this is going to become a yearly event!

Right now we're at $950 per person and, I think it's going to hold at that price - and, we're trying to add one or two more things on for that price. We're going to make it very worthwhile.

If the 2009 trip goes over well, we will pull out all the stops for 2010 Very Happy
