Not much happening in the cruise area, however we are heading to Siesta Key (Sarasota) on Friday for a couple weeks of sun and fun and then a stop in Nashville at the Opryland Resort for a big band dance for Memorial weekend. |
KnR - We're slow in the cruise area also right now. Going to Santa Fe next week for a week, then South Dakota in June and Hawaii in October (burning up SkyMiles before some merge or something eats them up). Being retired military, we get to stay at the Hale Koa Hotel on Waikiki. We've done 18 cruises and are looking to do a little something different than the Caribbean. Maybe South America. The dollar is still good down there. Later, Bibb |

| Rita, yes i am still driving my Corvette! Love it! It's a little faster now though.
Nina, I have been on Princess twice, Carnival twice and Celebrity once. My preferred line is Princess but they don't sail out of our port right now and I hate flying anymore. Carnival is not our line of choice but as long as the ship is really big, we will find SOMETHING to do on it. Celebrity..........well, it's the only time we were hungry. If you miss the dinner meal (because of excursions or whatever) you need to hope something is open. We tried one of the restaurants but you have to have reservations. The grills had closed so we had to sit in our cabin and eat room service food which too long. It was on the Millennium and our last time to ever go on that ship. Not much good came out of that cruise.
Think I will stick with Princess and give Royal Caribbean a try and maybe Holland America. Carnival makes a good "fill in' because it is close by, but only on a ship large enough to have a better variety. One cruise was as a group leader with my travel agent friends. Of course, then they bend over backwards to make you think they are the best in the world....so we took a second one with our Military Moms group and well..............they didn't come close to the service when they have a shipload of TA's on board.
