Any truth to the rumor that they are doing Alaska in 2010? I heard they requested permission into Glacier Bay, but does that really guarantee anything?

they have applied for Glacier Bay permits. The permit requests were for between 2010 and 2019, so we don't know what DCL specifically requested. It could be for as early as 2010, but many think that this is in anticipation of the new ships in 2011 and 2012. My dist sales manager @ DCL also pointed out they've applied for permits at a LOT of ports, and just because they are granted a permit in Alaska does not mean they'll actually use it.

I've always felt that way. When I vacation, I want it to be warm. Also, I'm not really a 'nature/outdoors' person. I like to see castles and museums and historic sites. But everyone raved about Alaska, so we cruised there in 2006. It only confirmed what I already knew. Alaska is not for me. It's the only cruise I've ever taken that I didn't really enjoy that much. |

I'm the same too, I did Alaska, it was "OK" but, certainly nothing I'd go rushing back to do again but, that's just me - came home with a really bad cold too . I LOVE hot, humid weather, so, I'm not the best person to ask about Alaska! _________________

LOL - I'm the opposite - heat & humidity don't thrill me so I was ecstatic in Alaska.
