Just wanted to start the clock ticking for the Final QE2 voyage. Can't wait to start packing for the 11/11/08 voyage of a lifetime.

Sorry to hear that. It almost didn't happen for me either.

I was up at 5:30 AM PST and started dialing. Got through to Cunard several times BEFORE the voyage went on sail and kept saying please call us back! But i said I already got through! Put me on hold, please! Sorry, we can't do that. When I called through at 6 AM, I was then on hold for 45 minutes till an agent said 'thank you for calling Cunard line, how may I assist you?' and I said QE2, final voyage, anything left? And she said yes, but only a C2 and that's it! Do I said "I'll take!". And that was that.

I will be taking 1000's of photos, many of which I'll post, and video, some of which I'll upload to YouTube, if I figure out how to do that.

And what do you think of Dubai as a destination - cruise or otherwise? I have it on my short list of places to see if I cash in my air miles for a "round the world" ticket. Appreciate any suggestions you have.

I forgot I posted this here. I ended up not being able to go! I know, tragic!) I was really crushed but I had a couple of friends on board who promised to take lots of photos (which they did) and they got something signed for me by the captain. I won't get it till I see them this summer (they live in the UK) but I am excited to see what it is. Dubai is on my short list as well, but from what I hear 2009 will be a tough year for it. I just wish they would reduce the rates for some of their hotels... that would really make it enticing. Besides shopping I am not sure what else there is to do there. Thanks!

oh nooo - you were so lucky to get space on the final sailing - well life is full of curves and changes that is for sure.

will you be able to sail on QM2 this summer? And yes it would be great to see photos if you get them to see what we missed!!
